Shikenjanski, 82, a Janesville resident for 55 years, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the home of her daughter. Mrs. Charles Rosenthal, 520 N. Palm St., with whom she resided. The former Rose Kania, daughter of Leo and Tillie Kania, was born in Du Bois, Ill., March 28, 1883. She was married to James S. Shikenjanski in Chicago Feb. 4, 1902. They lived in Chicago until 1910 when they located in Janesville. Mr. Shikenjanski died in 1917. Mrs. Shikenjanski was a member of St. William's Catholic Church. Surviving are one son Edmund Smythe, Janesville; four daughters, Mrs. Neal Anderson, Aurora, Ohio Mrs. Joseph Horkan, Loganville, Mrs. Charles Rosenthal and Mrs. Roy Zimbeck both of Janesville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers Leo Kania, S. Louis, and Charles Kania, Du Bois; and one sister, Sister Mary Jacintha, mother superior in a convent in Homewood, Mo. A son, Leo, predeceased her in 1963 and a sister in 1964. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
