Dorothy Ruge Peterson Pagles, 81, of Heritage Acres Care Center, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1994, in St. Luke's Hospital of cancer. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Friday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Fran Griffeth. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Rinehart of Cedar Rapids, and a son, Ronald of Long Beach, Calif.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Florence Peterson of California.
Dorothy was born March 8, 1912, in Cedar Rapids, and married Stanton M. Peterson there on Nov. 14, 1942. He died in 1958. She then married Art Pagles on July 31, 1961, in Chicago. He died in 1980. Dorothy was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Kappa Delta Social Sorority and ABWA Business Women's Association, and was a graduate of the University of Iowa.
Memorial donations may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or Lutheran Children's Home in Waverly.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart and generosity to others.
