  	The Gazette (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) 12 December 1995 Florence Frances Szyszka Obituary Norway - Florence Frances Syzszka, 80, formerly of Norway, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995 at Heritage Acres Care Center, Cedar Rapids, following a lingering illness. The daughter of Matt and Mary Schnurrer, she was born at Pierz, Minn. She married Jerome Szyszka, Oct. 14, 1936 in Minnesota. She and her husband operated the meat locker in Norway for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, and a son, Duane. Surviving are two sons, Jerome Jr., and Walter; six grandchildren, Shannon, Anne, John, Steve, Scott all of Norway, and Jennifer Furman; and two great-granddaughters, Samantha and Taylor Furman, Cedar Rapids; and four sisters and one brother. Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 13 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, with the Rev. Walter Kleinfehn officiating. Bonnie Brecht was the organist, Anne Szyszka was lector and gifts were offered by Shannon Szyszka and Jennifer Furman. Mass servers were Tim Plummer and Keith Mell. Ushers were David Volz and Ralph Schulte. Alex Devereux assisted with communion. Burial was Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements were by Brosh's Norway, and David Hrabak, funereal director, Belle Plaine.
