Funeral services for Norma Lee Watson were held at 2 p.m. today (Monday, May 15, 1989) at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina with the Rev. Jerry Turner officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Sandra Browning and Mrs. Mary Joy Sayres singing "We Shall Behold Him" and "Shepherd of Love," accompanied by Mrs. Carol Hayes, organist.
Burial was in the Knox City cemetery. Bearers were Robert Grainger, Verlin Tonnies, David Mitchel, John Mauck, Ersel Sayres and Robert Mauck.
Mrs. Watson, 52, of Knox City died Friday evening (May 12, 1989) at her home. She had been in failing health.
Born July 30, 1936 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Norman and Ethel (Park) Andersen. On Sept, 18, 1982 in Kansas City, she married Billy Watson who survives.
Also surviving are her parents of St. Louis; two daughters, Dawn Mishelle Kimberling and Mrs. Robert (Deonne Marie) Sanchez, both of St. Louis; three stepchildren, Myral Dean Watson of Blue Springs, Randy Lee Watson of Smithville and Mrs. Luis (Pamela Jean) Ossorio of Houston, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Marvin (Joyce) Seibert of St. Louis; three brothers, Farrell Andersen of Independence, Robert Andersen of Fenton and James Andersen of St. Louis and five grandchildren, Nicholas, Myral, Michelle, Amanda and Michael.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and two sons, Scott Norman Kimberling and Mark William Kimberling,
Mrs. Watson was reared in St. Louis where she graduated from high school in 1954. She was employed by the RCA Service Company of Kansas City as office manager for 25 years.
Following her retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Watson moved to their home in Knox City two years ago. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Concordia Turners Gymnastic Society.
