Mrs. Thos. Wilson, Princeton, Formerly of Amherst, Dead
Amherst, Wis. Aug. 30 - Mrs. Thomas Wilson, a former resident, died early Saturday morning at her home at Princeton, Wis. after a long lingering illness.
Mrs. Wilson submitted to an operation April 26 1928 in a Madison hospital and for a few months she seemed to be improving.
Two daughters, Mrs. Francis Hull of Stevens Point and Mrs. Lesli Warren of Anacortes, Wash. had been at her bedside constantly for the past five months.
Mrs. Wilson was highly esteemed and had a large circle of friends here, at Princeton and at other places where she had resided. She had never taken any active part in matters of a public character, but her life was spent in a modest quiet way in her home.
Born at Plover
She was born in Plover Sept 13, 1861. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Jeris Roe. On May 8, 1877 she was married to Thomas Wilson in the town of Knowlton where they resided for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in September, 1927 at their home in Princeton. Their four children were present. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson also lived for a number of years in Stevens Point, their home being at 616 Division Street. They lived 10 years in Brooklyn, moving to Princeton three years ago.
Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson. Delbert W. Wilson of San Luis Obisbo, Calif.: Alice. Mrs. L.A. Warren of Anacortes, Wash.: Maud. Mrs. F.W. Hull of Steven Point; Phoebe. Mrs. H.A. Miller of Princeton. The widower also survives.
The remains were brought here Monday at 2:30 p.m. by auto hearse and taken to Greenwood cemetery for burial. Short services had been held at Princeton at 11:30 a.m. The pallbearers were all relatives of the deceased. G.W. Fleming, M.A. Fleming, A.J. Wilson, C.F. Haertel, Maurice G. Wilson and Harold Munchow. The Rev Blake of Stevens Point officiated at Princeton and at Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Wilson and his family have the sympathy of the community in their loss of a loving wife and mother.
